In another harrowing cannibalistic attack, Maryland man Alexander Kinyua, 21, has allegedly admitted to killing his roommate, and then eating his vital organs. Police were alerted to the case Tuesday when Kinyua’s brother reportedly discovered a human head and two hands in a container in the basement. When police searched the dwelling and arrested Kinyua, he allegedly told them that he’d killed Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, 37, dismembered his remains, and ate his heart and part of his brain.
Agyei-Kodie, a graduate student from Ghana, had been reported missing the Friday prior to the discovery of his remains. He was living with Kinyua’s family and did not know many other people in the country. According to Kinyua’s father, Agyei-Kodie had run into legal trouble while in the states and was facing possible deportation.
Kinyua, an electrical engineering major at Morgan State University, and was a member of its ROTC program until January, when he was dismissed after a violent incident. Based on his online activities, Kinyua had an obsession with battle, the military and an apocalyptic future. On the radio show hosting site BlogTalkRadio, Kinyua hosted a show called “Warrior Syndicate,” which he described as a program for ”warriors skilled in combat or warfare … coming together to form a syndicate learning portal for Warrior Clans.” Kinyua was also active on several other sites, including Twitter, where he went by the name COREeye67. On December 10, Kinyua tweeted the messages “COME HELL OR HIGH WATER!!!! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!” and “AWESOME JOB” to hundreds of Twitter accounts, including those of Ivanka Trump, Jim Cramer, the Financial Times and the Suze Orman show. The day before that, he tweeted dozens of “principles of cosmic command,” which included “TRUE FORGIVENESS FOR EVERY BADNESS BEGINS THE MOMENT ONE ATTEMPTS TO UNDERSTAND HIMSELF AND HIS LIFE.” and “YOU NOW HOLD IN THESE TWEETS EXCERPTS OF A COMPLETE LIBRARY OF THE GREAT WISDOM’S OF THE AGES. – COSMIC COMMAND.”
His YouTube account, under the same user name, has been deleted, as has his Facebook page. On the document hosting site Scribd, Kinyua uploaded a cartoon manual for the M16A1 rifle, as well as a a guide to the use of the rifle sling.
Two weeks prior to this arrest, he had been charged with first degree assault for beating a Morgan State University student with a baseball bat for no apparent reason. He was held on $220,000 bond and released on May 23 when his bond was posted by two unnamed persons, according to court records. Following that incident, he was in the process of being expelled from the university.
Kinyua was charged with first-degree murder Wednesday. He is being held without bond.
